The book I read was titled German antheral nipper by Wolfgang W.E. Samuel. It was a true story of a child, Wolfgang, pin down in a crumbling Germany at the set aside of World fight II. Wolfgang was a twelve year doddering German child living in a teentsy town in Germany with his sister, Ingrid, and his mother Heldwig (Heldy). It is post World war II as the Russians beleaguer Western Germany and the English and Americans invade western Germany. Wolfgangs homo is rocked when the Russian war machine nears his seattown. His family fells farther west to his grandp bents home to escape the Russians and their brutal mistreatment of prisoners. Their thought is that the Nazi party volition regain control and they will be able to draw home. The Russians once again come near, forcing them to flee in the mediate of the night with a army escort. The convoy is attacked on the voyage and the family commodore a army wagon and heads hike up west trying to make it to American li nes. The rumor is that the Americans are much more than humane than the Russians ever would be. They are confine in a village and are forced to pitch to the Russians and live with them in misery for four years. Their father, living on the American gradient comes and rescues them and moves them west.
They live their until they are allowed to immigrate to the get together States. The story sums up with Wolfgang at a Veterans convention as an old man. He is close to fifty five and has a unspoiled aliveness in the United States. I commend this was a very good story and was informative about the war.
